Lee McCAllion

Lee McCallion heads monkey management. With over 15 years in the industry both in the UK and internationally Lee is still as passionate as ever about the arts and loses sleep over his search for perfection.
He spent the most part of his career in the Commercial Dance sector in the UK working for renowned international artists as well as an accomplished teacher of dance and choreographer.

A proud Welsh dude born and bred it’s there that he first learnt which path his life would take at a very young age. Trained locally in Dance and Drama Lee still holds in great light the teachers that installed his passion for the arts , especially the love of dance.

Lee joined both the West Glamorgan Youth Dance Company and West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company as a Teen which installed an incredible sense of discipline both artistically and as a young person with a dream.
Whilst studying in school Lee dedicated all his spare time to his training as well as accepting a position in an all Male Contemporary Dance Company which performed internationally including South Africa, in fact Lee received his final school exam results whilst there.

On leaving school Lee continued his training on a renowned Performing Arts course at Gorseinon College which has an outstanding track record of students gaining places at some of the UKs best Drama and Dance institutes. After being awarded 3 full scholarships to various dance Colleges he headed of to London at 17 to start his 1st year at PERFORMERS COLLEGE under the direction of Brian Rogers. Amazing times, crafting your art 24/7 was a dream for Lee whose passion started in a church hall playing ‘the ugly duckling’.
While gaining the best training in performance of dance and technique Lee also gained his teaching Associate with the ISTD as well as Anatomy & Physiology certificates.

On Graduating Performers College in 2000 Lee jumped right into creating a career in the industry both performing in Theatre Productions and in the record industry for a wide range of labels including Jive Records, BMG and Sony.

Some of the top artists Lee has had the pleasure to dance include: Elton John, George Michael, Sclub Junoirs/8, Lionel Richie, Gloria Gaynor and Westlife – All a mixture of TV promotions, Tours and Shoots internationally. Lee has also backing danced for artists that never really quite lit up the British charts these include : Lauren Waterworth , Beta Box, Tommy and the All Stars .

Television credits include performances on the Following, Top Of the Pops -BBC, Smile- BBC, Girl Thing – Sky 1, Hidden Talents of the Rich and Famous- ITV ,BBC Proms, MTV promos and various others promoting artists as-well as Commercials for major brands. Lee also performed in Stadium events for MTV in Germany.

Theatre Credits include: White Folks- Cochrane Theatre- London, Aspects of Dance- Lyceum Theatre, London, Rhythm of Life- London Palladium, Peter Pan- St Albans Arena, Snow White- Manchester Opera House, Jack & the Beanstalk- Alhambra, Bradford, Dick Whittington- Norwich.

Lee then turned his sights to the teaching of dance and choreography teaching at school,colleges and Universities both in the UK and abroad. Mainly specialising in Jazz, Commercial, Lyrical and Contemporary. Lee loves seeing many of his ex- students building careers for themselves in the cut throat industry of today some of whom are booking top artists and West End productions.

Lee was also Co- Director of BlackFish Productions – London who supplied the Petshop Boys with artists for their 2009 Collaboration performance with Lady Gaga (on her way to becoming a megastar then)@ The Brit Awards and McCallion Brown- Wales who held a close relationship with top model agency Models 1 meaning that Top TV show BNTM winners were instantly sent to the company for Editorial Shoots and Fashion Shows.

Lee is a passionate and enthusiastic leader and surrounds himself with only the best people that he feels can keep driving Monkey forward with fresh innovative ideas . He looks forward for your Company or Event to be part of that.
